Janet such a massive influence on my life. She was a strong, independent woman who loved unconditionally but didn’t take any shit. She did everything with her own unique, beautiful style. She was one amazing, incredible woman whom I have so much love and respect for.

I knew Janet from when she was 14. Life sent us different paths but I was fortunate enough to meet up with her again when we were in our 50’s. Still living in diffent countries, I had the pleasure of being able to interact with Janet via social media. Janet, you blew me away – your love for Ryk (Blackie to me from school days, Doll to you) and raising his and your amazing children to become the strong adults they are now – and to run your own business – as well as giving homes to stray dogs – you were one very special person and I am better for having known you. Thank you Jan, you will be missed.

Sweetie Dahling 💛 My heart is very heavy and I’m so very sad. But looking back through all the memories made and adventures had reaffirms just how incredible you were as a hooman bean. From that very first introduction where you looked me up and down and then slammed the door in my face, only to re-open it, laughing hysterically – to the houseboat trips, late night parties in Harare followed by Dippy Eggs, Soldiers & Kahlua Coffees, to the 4am heart-to-heart calls where we would set the world to rights – every memory is a treasure.

And a hard lesson to spend each moment you can with the special people around you. Miss you madly.

Fly high! Love you lots, like Jelly Tots. 💛

My darling future ex mother in law. From your first trip to see us in the UK (when I nearly killed you off way back then, sorry again) to our last trip together to Nyanga, you have always been my second Mum. To argue with, to share drinkie poos and fags with, to be shouted by, to leaning on each other hard when times got rough, there’s no one I would have rather had as a MIL. You made me promise to go out and LIVE and I indeed to. Lekker slaap Ma, see you now now xx

I knew Janet from school days when she started dating Ryk. Face Book allowed us to reconnect. The last time I saw her was when Shiloh was young enough for me to carry on my shoulders. Janet took much delight in sending me a photo of that time . To her Children, her great pride a joy my sincere condolences 💐 to Janet’s family and friends my sympathies. Rest In Peace Janet .
