Rob was such a special and lovely Man.
He loved living a simple life and enjoyed his life.

Rob was a special man with a naughty smile. He will be missed by us all. Sorry we won’t be there in person, but will be joining in virtually. Love and hugs to Kath, Greg, Brendon, Chevaun, Warwick, Craig, Clint and all the grandkids.
Rob Gilson will be sorely missed, sure he was deeply loved by all who knew him. His sense of humour will not be forgotten. May our Good LORD comfort his loved ones during this difficult period.
Afghan you will be remembered for your love of creating mischief wherever possible I will miss your occasional hilarious messages …
My heartfelt condolences to Kath and family
RIP dear friend 💔
Rob, not really sure where to start. From the young days on the farm in Chipinge, to showing me how tea is made in Malawi, to Hashim Amla 100’s, to sadza lessons in Mozambique, to shared love of chirping the rattle snake. You taught me a whole bunch, told me I was wrong a whole lot more but you did it all with a sense of humour that would rival most stand up comedians. Thank you for everything! Gonna miss you Rob. Thinking of you Kath, Greg, Vaunie, Wicks, and Mumps.
Goodbye Dad, a man who shaped my life in ways both big and small. His warm smile, quick wit, and mischievous spirit will be deeply missed. While no words can fully capture what he meant to me, I take comfort in knowing that his impact lives on in the lives he touched.
Love you always,

Dear Dad
I want to start by saying thank you for all that you have done for me in my life. You will never understand how much of an influence you had and how you shaped me into the person I am today. Although you didn’t get to know your grandkids that well, rest assured that they see you everyday in me and hopefully I will set a good example, like you did. Please know that I will always love you and I’m going to miss you so much!
All my love
Warrick (Wicky-Wockey-Woo)
Dear Rob,
I am so grateful for being part of your life Rob, for knowing you, and for learning from you.
I’m so grateful for the way you loved my mom, the way you loved us, and the way your love radiated through our family! You’ve been my rock for so long, and I can’t begin to say how much I will miss you. We all will.
Thank you for being such an important part of my life, Rob. I am eternally grateful, and I wish you nothing but peace, happiness, beer, and endless laughter.
Rile and I are really going to miss laughing with you!
Keep watching over us as you always have.
Thank you, Rob.
All my Love!
Craig

Rob sadly only saw you once since our Malawi days! Too long! Your dry sense of humour – your trade mark! miss that!
What comes to mind? Your special concoction of beans with a braai! only for you! And then the wretching (boking in Scots) – when you happened upon a fresh off white turd in the tea!!
Going to miss you my friend! Morag and I loved our friendship with you and Kath in Malawi. Too short! rest in peace special friend!
Ah Rob, a good man gone too soon, but what a rich life filled with love, humour and every type of success. A great friend to the Payne clan and especially our folks, who were so very fond of you, and to whom you gave so much friendship and support over the years.
For me personally, a good mate held in highest esteem and respect, with a friendship born in the early days in Chipinge, through Maritzburg, back to Chipinge and on to regular visits in Malawi. What I’d give for a just few more hours of banter and being the brunt of your wicked sense of humour.
Fly high Nyamanza, you’ll be well and fondly remembered by all lucky enough to have known you!
With Love

Well done Greg & Charles, not an easy job but lovely words and very fitting for Rob
