MHDSRIEP Chris a true visionary leader gone to rest. He will be remembered for his tireless giving nature. Our prayers are with Maureen and all families. May his dear soul rest in eternal peace.
We, the Johnston Clan, had the great privilege of knowing the Molam’s because Chris met our father, Peter, through business many years ago. They went on to work tirelessly, together with Rotary. Peter, unfortunately, passed away before he was due to take on the presidency of Rotary African Central District and Chris stepped in and up to fill the void created by our fathers passing. In doing so this lead to my late Mum, Pamela, becoming the Rotary Ann side kick to Chris when he served his term as president helping support him with the rigors of the demand of the job through collaboration with Maureen and the rest of his presidential team. They worked together, alongside Maureen, for many years thereafter. Both families have becoming interlinked on all levels and the bond is still very strong today.
Chris had an abundance of energy, the amazing ability to influence, change your mind and was full of kindness and love. His cheerful and positive approach to life has trickled down to all his children and he is most definitely within all of them. So if you want to see who Chris was, look no further than his off spring. What a great man who had integrity, vision and brilliance. He will always be in our memory as a good force, who helped and achieved so much for so many over such a great life. Fly high Chris……as you always have. Love always from The J Family
Chris was a great husband and dad, but his influence spread far into the community and abroad through his professional work, his Christian witness and his huge impact in multiple areas in Rotary. He was a gifted leader and wise counsellor. I was so grateful for his guidance and support of Phil when he was District Governor – the 4 Musketeers did a great job in leading the District that year! Chris was always totally committed, full of fun and anecdotes and a fount of knowledge in so many areas. He is fondly remembered and will be greatly missed.
As an add on to David’s family note
Chris has always been a great principled man and such a loss to the Rotary family, his family and community in general.
Along with our dad their hearts were fully into Rotary and the good they could do for the less fortunate.
Along the way I managed to do quite a bit of work with Chris and really got to see what an operator he really was, not just a man who was like minded and good mates with dad .
Working with David King in London and his government contacts, looking at creating a long term legacy with the meaningful dispersal of all of the UK Olympic equipment after the 2012 Olympics held in the UK , Rotary Southern Africa was a good solid option.
We were talking about complete villages ,along with all of the equipment involved in the games worth some billions.
Chris came to the fore and was my point man for Rotary Southern Africa opening all of the doors to the clubs and more importantly the right people, who supplied us with wish lists for their respective clubs in all of the southern region countries including Zim, Moz ,Zambia , Malawi and SA
Involving a lot of discussions and some travel Chris consumed a huge amount of working hours and applied a lot of effort to a project with uncertain outcomes,
Unfortunately and sadly, it never came to be.
We remained firm family friends and I still have a lot of interaction with mainly Paul & Maureen .
Your loss leaves a large gap Chris and I will always remember you as a fine upstanding gentleman.
Much Love and strength to all those you left behind.
Love
Mark Johnston

For so many years you were always such a strong and generous friend Thank you. We treasure the fond memories of so many fun times spent as families together. May you rest in peace.

Chris was such a great mentor to me – not only in Rotary but also in teaching me the best practices of training leaders that I still use today. I will always remember the road trip we took to Zambia – for a Rotary meeting of course, a long road trip to Luanshya, and the many, many Rotary training sessions we conducted together. His legacy will live on in the lives of so many people that he impacted. Chris, I will miss your sense of humour, wisdom, and friendship. Thank you for everything you taught me. Maureen and family – I am so very sorry for your loss. May he rest in eternal peace

Uncle Chris,
Reflecting on strong memories of you when I was growing up in Zim. I remember the cigars, wine and so many liquers! The magnificent antique peach peeling machine. Rotary and you seemed to know so many people and had so many stories. Hunyani Pulp and Paper. Kariba holidays at Caribbea Bay or Hunyani House and watersking and fishing on Bettle Bum II. Famous Molam temper which I was one afflicted! You and Dad spending more time together looking after Grandma Megan as she aged as you both did. Lots of fond memories and will have a toast tonight. RIP Uncle Chris your nephew Gary Molam

I have known Chris and the Molam family for many years. Paul and Maria are good friends and we were at school together.
Chris was always welcoming and made time for me, we had some great discussions, usually over a bottle or two of wine.
I have some great memories of Chris, his humour, great knowledge and contributions to the community.
MHSRIP and love to Maureen and the family
