In Loving Memory of Uncle Baz.
We are deeply saddened by the passing of our beloved Uncle Basil.
Nevertheless, this is not good bye just Au revoir—until we meet again.
A gentle loving soul whose life reflected the heart of Christ.
His kindness, his quiet strength, and the love he so freely gave, will be treasured and remembered always.
Uncle Baz was a man who loved deeply and without reserve. He cherished his family. He was a devoted husband to our Aunty Myrna.
    His presence brought warmth.
He radiated Gods love in the most natural way by being so genuine.
We find comfort in knowing that he is now resting in the arms of Jesus. At peace. His faith fulfilled, his joy complete.
    Home at long last.
Until we meet again uncle Baz.
From his Niece Sandy, Johnny and family.

As I sit here in the Kruger, listening to the Crocodile River and watching the animals on the riverbank, I am reminded of all the cherished times you and Myrna travelled from Salisbury to Bulawayo in the green Defender. Mom, ever fond of her favourite son-in-law, would prepare spaghetti bolognaise, and Ian and I would be brimming with excitement to visit the family, eagerly anticipating the trip to the Plumtree farm the next day.
I hold dear the memories of those nights under the stars, sitting around the fire, laughing, chatting, and sharing unforgettable moments. While you, Myrna, and Uncle Bob ventured out with spotlights, hunting impala, the bonds we forged and the joy we shared remain forever etched in my heart.

Basil may your spirit soar with the angels and walk alongside the Lord.

    Hamba gashle Baz.

    With love always,

Dearest Basil, may you fly high with the angels as you watch over our darling Myrna. Although you began as a ‘client’ you have become a much loved friend and gentleman whom we all loved at African Apothecary. We loved giving you secret biscuits (don’t tell Myrna) and helping in the best way we could given your wobbles and mobility difficulties of late. But you never gave up. Your nickname being Mr Ncube – being fluent in Ndebele. Thank you for holding my hand last week and allowing me a little time to kiss you on the cheek, your last words to me (being forever gentlemanly Basil) ‘thank you’. Rest well now Basil. A true gentleman. We will look after Myrna and remember you with love ❤

    Rest easy now xxx

Basil was a great guy…always in a good mood, ever generous, ready to help at the drop of a hat – a kind and loyal friend who often put the well-being of others above his own. He was an example to all who knew him as a devoted family man, hard worker, and faithful Christian. Thank you, dear Brother in the Lord, for the privilege of having had you as my friend.

It’s with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to Uncle Basil. The news of his passing brings back a rush of memories, especially those carefree days on his farm in Bulawayo. I’ll always cherish the times we went hunting as a kid, those adventures shaping a part of who I am today. And who could forget the day he so cleverly tricked me into trying liver for the first time! Even now, I can almost taste it and smile. His playful spirit and the way he’d call me “Umfanna” always made me feel special and loved. Uncle Basil, you were such a wonderful, loving uncle, and the fun times we shared are etched in my heart forever. You will be deeply missed, but your memory will live on brightly in all of us.

      Dear Fraser family

On behalf of the Cosmo Baking Supplies Family, we would like to express our deepest condolences for your loss. It is not just a loss to your family alone but to all of us aswell as Mr Basil Fraser was family to each and everyone of us at Cosmo Baking Supplies.

Yes Mr Fraser was our boss because he could ‘Chovha’ us to make sure things were done the correct way and on time when we were under the pump. But he always did it in a loving way because he cared for all of us in the company.

One of Mr Fraser’s fear was that we will forget all about him once he is gone but his loving memory will live eternally in our hearts for infinity. We will always cherish all the precious memories of the times we were together here at Cosmo.

Rest easy our dear Boss and friend. We will forever miss you and the void you have left in our hearts will never be filled. We pray the Lord will bring peace and comfort to the family you left behind.

Dearest Aunty Myrna, Kevin, Deirdre, Colin, and all your families…
It feels like I cannot remember a time where you and Uncle Basil were not a part of our lives as the Darroch family (and then as Blanchfield family) and we shall greatly miss our favorite Uncle Basil as we say goodbye. However, we take comfort that he is now at peace, at rest, and in a better place.
He was a man of such great warmth, kindness, and quiet, determined strength, and we feel blessed to have known him over so many years.
His faith, integrity, and love for humankind in general have touched the lives of so many and left a lasting impression on all who have had the privilege of being in his world.
More than that, his deep love for his family, whom he cherished for all he was worth, will ever be an inspiration.
The legacy he leaves will live on in his children and his grandchildren, and, in their children too. Please God.
In this time of sorrow, we pray you will find comfort in the promises of God‘s word. “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted”
    Psalm 34:18.
I pray that your heart will be upheld at this time by the love and the prayers of all those who care deeply for you.
May you rest in peace now dearest Uncle Basil after a life well-lived.
    God‘s blessings

When I think back of Mr. Fraser I’ve known him since I was about five years old.
He has always shown me kindness and has a very special place in my heart.
I remember having lunch with him after school sitting around the table eating sandwiches and chatting.
I can remember my first hunting trip with Mr. Fraser and Kevin to his brother Bobs farm where Kevin and I had to walk to get help because we had a puncture, everything with Mr Fraser always turned into an adventure.
I can also remember going to his office at Trek and somehow he always managed to turn chaos into some sort of organization.
He was always honest with us as teenagers and would laugh at our stunts.
I can still see his smile and hear his laugh.
Go well Mr. Fraser I will truly miss you.

My deepest condolences to the entire Fraser family for the Loss of Mr Fraser Senior. The past few days have been somewhat gloomy but having to hear some of my work mates tell their encounters with Him brought me to write my own. My fondest memory of the few months that I knew him is of the first day He came to visit the work place after I had just gotten employed, sitting by my desk right at the door imagine my bit of shock when you fluently said “Sabona Mfanekhaya, Hayi umzimba iyala kodwa INkosi iyazi.” ( Hello homeboy, I’m not feeling too good but the Lord is in control) To say I was wowed is an understatement, you did not live to know this but hearing you speak my mother tongue each time was encouragement enough to say young lady put your best food foward and work hard for your homeboy. You were actually my homeboy. Rest easy “Mfanekhaya”, Mdala wethu ….
The verse below would have been your words
Philippians 1:21 For to me, to live is Christ [He is my source of joy, my reason to live] and to die is gain [for I will be with Him in eternity]. …. Mrs Fraser may the Holy Spirit comfort you and strengthen you more than all our words and hugs could ever. To Aunty Myrna, Deidre, Colin and Kevin. Sorry for your loss. The news of Uncle Basil passing brings back so many memories, just don’t know where to begin. There were times when we went to the farm and Uncle Basil would say Umfanna open the gate. Little did I know that he and Dad would drive off once it was open and leave me behind to run behind the car. There were the times when we would come over for a braai and Dayne and I would play cricket in the garden and always Umfanna mind my flowers. So many good memories growing up that have shaped the person that I am today. I will always treasure the memories we made and miss my wonderful, kind and caring Uncle.
